An Elegant Evening in Charleston

For 120 years, Gracie hand painted wallpapers have been highly sought after by a discerning clientele and can be found on the walls of the most notable homes in the world. Gracie recently hosted a private dinner that coincided with a gathering of the design community in historic Charleston, South Carolina and asked us to create the table linens. Thus began our design process.

The dinner was held on the piazza of a stately Federal home in the historic South of Broad neighborhood of Charleston. The residence recently underwent a meticulous two-year transformation by designer Betsy Berry of B. Berry Interiors.

A highlight of the renovation is the exquisite hand painted wallpaper from Gracie installed in the dining room of the home. Inspired by Roman frescoes uncovered in Italy’s Villa Livia, Linda’s Garden features a lush oasis filled with flowers, fruit laden trees, grasses, birds, and butterflies. We picked elements and motifs from the wallpaper and color coordinated the linen and embroidery threads to be a direct match with the wallpaper. The embroidered linen napkins were a delightful addition to the table and perfectly suited the elegance of an evening filled with charm and grace.

This wonderful collaboration highlights our ability and delight in creating highly customized bed, bath, and table linens that complement and coordinate with beautiful textiles and wallcoverings. We invite you to visit E. Braun with swatches in hand and boundless creative vision in tow to explore the endless possibilities and bespoke opportunities that await.
